Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response

The health and safety of our employees and customers is always our foremost priority.

With the rapidly growing concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), Power Climber is proactively taking measures to protect the health and safety of our employees and customers, while also striving to mitigate any service disruptions. We are monitoring this developing situation closely and taking protective measures.

While the situation is changing daily, we are planning appropriately to ensure we’re ready and able to serve our customers as we work through this challenge and beyond.

Different locations and countries have established varying levels of restriction on business operations and movement. In some locations we continue to operate either as usual or with a limited staff. In other locations, our local operations may have closed in response to COVID-19 or in compliance with local government requirements.

For Power Climber locations where operations continue:

Q. What is Power Climber doing for traveling employees?

A. We’ve suspended all nonessential business travel for our employees until further notice. We are encouraging our employees to conduct meetings virtually, rather than in person, wherever possible.

As a precaution, we are requiring any employees who have traveled, or been in contact with anyone who has traveled, to high-risk regions (as determined by the CDC) in the past two weeks to self-quarantine for 14 calendar days after their return. These employees are also required to notify Human Resources regarding their travels.

For any situations where business travel is essential, senior management will review and approve critical travel on a case-by-case basis.

Q. How is Power Climber monitoring employees who have not traveled?

A. We are actively promoting office and jobsite hygiene, and we are encouraging any employee who is sick or feels they may be getting sick to stay home.

As there is no vaccine to prevent COVID-19, we are advising our employees to follow health authority recommendations to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60-95% alcohol. If your hands are visibly dirty, soap and water are the preferred method.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid shaking hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

Q. How is Power Climber handling visitors who interact with employees?

A. Site leadership at our locations is determining the best solutions to keep their teams and customers healthy and safe. Among these solutions is a self-disclosure questionnaire, which we are asking our branch and jobsite vendors to complete about their potential COVID-19 exposure before being granted access to company buildings and facilities.

If a visitor answers “yes” to any of the questions below, they should not enter the site or interact with our employees in person at this time.

  • Have you traveled from any countries that have high-risk regions/situations or gone on a cruise ship, regardless of location, within the last 14 days?
  • Have you had close contact with or cared for someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or who had a possible case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
  • Have you had close contact with anyone who traveled to high-risk regions/situations or went on a cruise ship, regardless of location, within the last 14 days?
  • Do you have any flu-like symptoms, including fever, chills, sinus drainage, coughing or sneezing?

For delivery people at our sites, we are asking that they remain in their vehicles whenever possible.

For all Power Climber locations:

Q. How will Power Climber handle a high-risk situation, should one arise?

A. Power Climber has carefully put a plan in place to handle high-risk situations, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. Should a situation arise, we are prepared to handle it.

Q. What is Power Climber doing to keep customers and employees informed?

A. We are continuing to monitor this developing situation as more information becomes available. We have communicated, and will continue to communicate, any updates about the coronavirus and any further required actions.

We are advising our employees to follow CDC and WHO guidelines and stay informed about COVID-19 via the following links:
